Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow reiterated his call to help victims of human trafficking during his appearance on “Sunday Night in America.”

Tebow, who celebrated his 35th birthday, encouraged viewers to help his foundation fight “one of the greatest evils in the world”.

“There are currently an estimated 40.3 million people trapped in this horrible scourge of human trafficking, so many more are actually being exploited online and that number is growing every day,” said Tebow.

He told the story of his pastor father who rescued four girls from an auction, which led him to advocate for protective shelters to house and hide victims of human trafficking.

“I knew that God had opened my eyes to a new calling that day and since we are getting more and more involved in this fight. And what we really need is an army because it there’s an army of bad guys doing terrible things, and so we need an army of good people standing up against them because there are so many precious lives at stake,” he said.

He added: “It’s our job. It’s our job to defend them, to give them a place of refuge, to give them a safe place to protect them. So maybe for the first time in their lives , they’ll actually feel free and feel safe. That’s why it’s important.”

Currently, the Tim Tebow Foundation is working on building a new center in Thailand and is asking for donations to help complete the building. Tebow noted that the structure is needed because many victims of human trafficking do not have a safe haven.

Federal reports from 2021 showed that 57% of human trafficking victims in the United States were minors.

TIM TEBOW’S FAITHFUL FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING: “CALL TO” DO THIS

“What some of these people do, they prey on the desperate. They prey on those who are alone, who are looking for friends and looking for a relationship, they are looking for a home. And so they end up vulnerable all over the world .. They build those relationships and then they do terrible things,” Tebow said.

He concluded: “There are 15 girls currently waiting for this house to be built and we hope to be able to save many more and bring them to this house. We need your help, but honestly, it’s not about us. They need your help. They need us to work together to defend them, because they are worth it.
