Michael McWhorter has joined TikTok to create a silly lip-sync video. After gaining a substantial following, he turned to misinformation and then to help hunt down the bad guys.

When a popular TikToker reposted a video showing an attack on an Indigenous woman in Canada and asked police what they were doing about it, the department responded online within hours.

Ottawa police were quick to explain that they had arrested a 37-year-old woman for the attack, charged her with assault and were “taking this investigation very seriously.”
