Tiago Ev from Rs 8.49 Lakh launched – Reservations open on 10th October

Indian automaker Tata Motors on Wednesday launched Tiago EV variants which come for an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh. Reservations for the electric variants start on October 10 and deliveries will begin from January 2023.
Tiago EV variants will cost between Rs 8.49 lakh and Rs 11.79 lakh ex-showroom. These are the introductory prices for the first 10,000 consumers. The automaker also said the first 2,000 units will be reserved for current Tata Motors EV customers.

Customers can reserve their car by paying a reservation amount of Rs 21,000 at any authorized Tata Motors dealership or on the website. Deliveries are expected to begin in January 2023.
After the launch, shares of Tata Motors rose 1.5% from the previous close at Rs 405.10 at 12:10 p.m.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “With the launch of the Tiago.ev, India’s first electric hatchback, the nation can a giant leap in its quest for safe, clean and green mobility.”
He sees it as an ideal fun hatch that offers premium, safety and technology features, an environmental footprint and spirited performance, all made even more desirable with the added benefit of a low cost of ownership.
It will be the first in its segment to offer connected features as standard on all trims, which are typically offered in higher-end cars. Tiago EV comes with two battery options and four different charging solutions, allowing customers to choose the combination that best suits their mobility needs.
Tata Motors previously confirmed that the Tiago EV features connected car technology. It supports smartwatch, Apple Car Play and Google Android Auto connectivity.
Tiago.ev is based on Ziptron technology, which is the high-voltage architecture developed in-house by Tata Motors and designed for Indian driving and weather conditions.
“Standing to the 5 key pillars of Ziptrons, the Tiago.ev is solid in terms of performance, technology, reliability, charging and comfort. The Ziptron EV architecture is piloted and proven over 500 million km in Indian terrain diverse and challenging, making it suitable for an exhilarating EV experience,” the company said in a statement.
