Week 2’s NFL DFS action kicks off with a Thursday night clash with two enemies from NFC East. The Washington football team welcomes the New York Giants as both teams try to bounce back from the season opener losses. This might not be anyone’s idea of a must-see sporting event, but given the stakes, it’s pretty big in real life, so we bring the same intensity to our lineup choices for only one FanDuel match.
It’s no secret that this game is planning to be a low scoring affair. Vegas sportsbook opened this game with totals as low as 41, with Washington favored by up to four points. We don’t mind calling on some WFT skill players, but we’re going to avoid trying to identify which Giant might have a big night out.
A quick reminder of the contest rules at a FanDuel game: the point total for the “MVP” is multiplied by 1.5, but it does not bring in any extra money like the “Captain” in DraftKings Showdown contests. FanDuel’s default score is PPR half point and Four Point Pass TDs, and there is no bonus for 100/300 yard games like on DraftKings.

DFS picks for a single FanDuel game: Giants vs. Washington football team
Budget of $ 60,000, need at least one player from each team
MVP (1.5x points): RB Antonio Gibson, Washington ($ 12,500)
Gibson is stuck in our MVP niche simply because he’s in the best position to lead the points slate. If last week’s use (20 staves, 5 targets) continues – and there’s little to no reason why it doesn’t – Gibson will be busy and productive.

FLEX: QB Daniel Jones, Giants ($ 15,000)
The Giants have a lot of guns on paper, but that offense just didn’t click with any degree of consistency. Saquon Barkley ($ 14,000) doesn’t seem ready to reprise his role as a bell cow, so more responsibility will be in the hands – and on the legs – of Jones. We’ll bet he’ll be a big part of the Giants offense.
WEEK 2 LINEUPS DFS: DraftKings | FanDuel | Yahoo
FLEX: QB Taylor Heinicke, Washington ($ 14,500)
We certainly like the players on the football team more than the Giants, but we also like the idea of covering our bases with both quarterbacks. Like his counterpart, Heinicke can run a bit and will be supported by a solid collection of weapons. With the scoring projected at a premium, we want to connect with those who will have the most opportunities to collect Fantasy Points.
PLUS WEEK 2 DFS: Best values | Best values | Range generator
FLEX: WR Terry McLaurin, Washington ($ 12,000)
McLaurin only received four targets last week, but the football team only attempted 21 assists. We’re not going to see WFT embrace the air raid, but McLaurin has totaled 14 catches, 189 yards, and one touchdown on 20 targets in two games against the Giants in 2020. He’s still a threat to collect over 10 looks and deliver a big fantastic performance.
FLEX: WR Dyami Brown, Washington ($ 5,500)
Brown’s first row of stats is fairly forgettable (one catch, less than two yards), but he performed like No.2 behind McLaurin. Brown played 93 percent of the snaps and tied his teammate with four targets. We don’t expect a scintillating performance, but if he can better take advantage of his opportunity, we could be in the green.
