Romelu Lukaku’s nightmarish performance this weekend and its fallout suggest Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel doesn’t like the player, Tony Cascarino believes.
The striker’s second stint at Stamford Bridge hasn’t gone to plan so far and the Blues’ win over Crystal Palace marked a new low for Lukaku.
He had just SEVEN touches on the ball in the whole game, a Premier League record since Opta started collecting such stats in 2003.
Following Lukaku’s anonymous display, Tuchel defended the player as he insisted now was not the time to laugh and joke about his performances.
However, Cascarino slammed Tuchel’s original answer, where he admitted he didn’t know how to get Lukaku’s form back.
The talkSPORT host also believes Lukaku is unrated by his manager.
On displaying Lukaku at Palace, Cascarino said of White and Jordan: “I can’t believe he did that so few touches in a game are very hard to do.
“My hunch is that Romelu really knows, and that often happens in football, the manager doesn’t like him.

“The way he spoke there, saying ‘what can I do? You are the manager, this is your first call to someone when they are struggling… make them feel wanted.
“‘What can I do?’ I find that to be the strangest response from a manager/coach.
It remains to be seen whether Lukaku will play a role in Chelsea’s Round of 16 first leg tie against Lille in the Champions League, live on talkSPORT.
However, Cascarino fears Tuchel could scapegoat Lukaku if the 28-year-old doesn’t feature.
Cascarino added: “I don’t think Romelu is hiding in games. He had very bad games for Chelsea, but he also had some great ones.
“I can’t wait to see the line-up tonight – you’ll get an answer on how much Thomas Tuchel thinks of his centre-forward.
“It’s an important game, it’s a Champions League game… if he’s left out, Thomas Tuchel will definitely scapegoat him.”
