This may be the new leaked map from ‘Fortnite’ Chapter 5

For reasons that escape me, Epic is only offering the Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Rewind Season for one month, until the game moves to “real” Chapter 5, and with it, a whole new map.

But now, thanks to new leaks In the game files uploaded for the new (old) season, we could see what the new map will look like, which some are comparing to the Season 2 map. Here’s the entirety below, which is labeled in-game as “HELIOS_TERRAIN”.

For comparison, it is compared to the map in chapter 2.

Mmm, I can kind of see it. You have rivers that meet in the middle to form a body of water with an island. You have a city type area to the southeast of it, you have snowy mountains to the south. But I don’t know, I’m not sure if all this means that it’s directly inspired by the chapter 2 map, because I think it’s probably just meant to be its own thing, and as always, it will evolve over time. over time. all chapter cards do this.

At the moment it seems a bit scattered and with few biomes, but again, these things tend to change over time. The question now is what will happen at the end of the month story-wise in order to transition from the OG map to the new Chapter 5 map here, and will players be as engaged once all their favorite landmarks, equipment and vehicles will be gone. This is probably what will happen? Fortnite saw its player count skyrocket to over 6 million competitors following the release of Chapter 1 of the OG, and I think it’s going to get tough once this map disappears and the game will simply move forward to new chapters. This feels like a card you can only play once, so only having it for a month seems a bit wrong.

So no, right now it doesn’t seem like the most interesting map in the world, but I have echoes of Fortnite’s earlier maps, which were more spread out and less gimmicky, given what we’re shown here. Again, this will evolve over time, but I wonder if we’re going back to the days of very specific live events changing very specific areas of the map, like the famous meteor strike of old. I think that it is possible.
