the works contract awarded in September

The Moroccan Logistics Development Agency (AMDL) intends to begin development work on the El Hajeb road center project. The regulator will have to award the works contract on September 13. Cost of the service: 29.9 million dirhams. The operation will consist in carrying out the execution studies and servicing works (roads and various networks) on-site and off-site for this infrastructure. The center of El Hajeb is also the first infrastructure of this kind to be installed. Another will also be set up in Agadir. These platforms will have the task of reorganizing the flow of goods in cities and reducing the nuisance caused by the parking of heavy goods vehicles within urban perimeters. The future centers will cover an area of about 2 ha each. The AMDL claims to have conducted a strategic study for the structuring of urban logistics in Morocco. This has thus shown the interest and the opportunity to improve logistics within cities with a view to establishing a “sustainable” development dynamic and optimized logistics practices. The study also made it possible to define a set of actions aimed in particular at rationalizing the movement of goods in the city and the development of an offer of suitable infrastructure and public facilities. The objective is to ensure better management of urban logistics. The consultation recommended, among other things, the development of road centers in and/or near cities. “The installation of these centers constitutes an important lever for the reorganization of the flow of goods”, specifies the logistics regulator.
