Subject to the approval of the Competition Authority, the Bois & Matériaux group, based in Pacé (35), will be taken over by the Toulouse-based distributor Chausson Matériaux, according to Les Echos. Bois & Matériaux has 133 stores and generated sales of 580 million euros, with 2,000 employees. It includes Réseau Pro, which has 102 branches in the northern half of France. Bois & Matériaux had been held since 2016 by the American fund OpenGate Capital, which had taken it over from the British Wolseley in 2016. If this acquisition is validated, the Chausson group will become the second French distributor of construction materials.
