The family of six was moved on March 23 when a fire broke out at their Warren Manor flat.

Father Ladarrel Brown managed to get all four children out of the house, but eldest daughter Laurii’ell suffered extensive burns to her arms and face.

She was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit and later died of her injuries.

Macomb County Action reached out to the owner of Auto DR in Ira Township to share the family’s story.

The company, which was already looking for a family to donate a car to, fortunately mobilized for the family.

“Being able to give back to the community that has supported my business over the past decade is very heartwarming. Hopefully we can do that on an annual basis,” owner Dustin Rutkowski said.

In addition to the Chrysler Town & Country van, the family received $1,000 in gas cards.
