The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes announces his engagement to his girlfriend
Congratulations are in order for Nathan Sykes!
The Wanted star, 29, announced his engagement to girlfriend Charlotte Burke, and the couple can’t hide their joy.
Nathan pulled out all the stops with his romantic proposal, as he got on his knees while vacationing in St. Lucia.
The sweet moment was made even sweeter by the fact that the singer chose the exact Caribbean beach where his partner’s parents were married to pop the question.
Sharing their excitement with the world, Nathan shared some snaps on social media, with a smiley face Charlotte showing off her sparkling ring to the camera.
A second snap showed the husband and wife kissing on the sand.
Nathan wrote on Instagram: “A few nights ago I took @_charlotteburke_ to the same beach in St. Lucia that her parents got married on many years ago to ask her a certain question and…She said say yes !!!”
Fans were quick to offer their congratulations, with plenty of quips about their now broken teen heart.
‘Awwww, how is it possible that baby Nath is engaged? 14 year old me ranting 🤣 Congratulations to you both!’ joked one.
‘Omggggg I’m so incredibly happy for you guys!! ❤️’, wrote another.
“I bet Tom is smiling up there. Happy for you Nathan, you deserve it,” a fan also wrote.
Wanted star Tom Parker died aged 33 in March this year after being diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.
His wife, Kelsey, has since found love herself and recently addressed negative comments about her grief.
“People think I should walk around – I’m in a black jacket – but I should be in black, in mourning, wearing my black veil, over my face and not talking to anyone. But life is not like that.
“I learned from this that you can feel so many different emotions in one day, but even in five minutes. I could feel sadness, anger, joy and laughter, all literally in the span of five minutes,’ Kelsey added on The Happy Place podcast.
Nathan’s bandmates were also elated over his engagement, with Max George commenting, “It’s amazing!!!!”
Max later wrote: ‘Congratulations to you both!! ❤️’
Nathan’s engagement makes him another Wanted star to make headlines with their love life, as Max, 34, is currently dating Maisie Smith, 21.
The EastEnders actress and Gold Forever hitmaker have ended criticism of their romance as many people had things to say about the 13-year age gap.
Max said the age difference “never crosses my mind” while Maisie talked about having friends in their 30s and 40s.
“You connect with who you connect with,” she said candidly.
