The Sonos Era 100 wireless speaker is at its cheapest price ever

If you’re not familiar with Sonos, trust us when we say it delivers premium audio for the consumer market. It’s basically a step down from the very high-end audiophile gear you might see. As such, its products are expensive and we don’t often see many good deals on them. Luckily, we found a rare and excellent Black Friday deal on the Sonos Era 100, which actually topped our list of best wireless speakers. While it usually costs $249, you can get it at Best Buy for $199, which isn’t a massive discount, but it’s more than we’ve seen in a while, so it’s worth it. It’s hard to acquire it before the offer expires.

Why you should buy the Sonos Era 100

One of the most impressive things about the Sonos Era 100 is that it fills the room much more than you would expect from something so small. Since it’s a larger speaker, it also sounds much bassier, which is great if you like bass-heavy tracks and are worried about finding a small, portable speaker able to manage them. That’s not to say that it’s primarily a bass beast, the rest of the frequencies are also rather nuanced, rather than being drowned out by bass, so it’s the Sonos Era 100 that is very versatile, which, Of course, is great if you’re going to use it with a friend who has different musical tastes.

The Sonos Era 100, like most wireless speakers these days, can connect to an app that gives you a bit more functionality, like Quick Setting that uses the built-in microphone to adjust the speaker’s EQ by depending on the room you have. It works for both Android and iOS, so no worries, although there is a more advanced mode for iOS that Digital Trend reviewer Simon Cohen found almost unnoticeable. That said, the app can be a little finicky when actually controlling the speaker, but luckily you have a few face buttons at the top that give you some control as well. Also, one thing to keep in mind is that it’s not really water-resistant or designed for bad weather, so don’t expect to take it on a picnic or camping trip.

The Sonos Era 100 is certainly a premium speaker with a premium price tag, but it’s definitely worth it, especially when you consider Best Buy’s $50 discount.
