The host Laurent Bignolas tried his hand at the word game during the presentation of a choreography based solely on the movements of the arms. The artist did not like it, wondering if the joke did not mask an underlying racism.
On April 10 on France 2, the show “Télématin” presented a video of a choreographer from Nice, Sadeck Waff, known for his creations which are made only from the movements of the arms and optical illusions.
While an extract passed through the image, the journalist and host Laurent Bignolas allowed himself a touch of humor: “It’s an idea for all those who are used to stealing in department stores only but as they are closed, you might as well do “choreography”. ”
If on the set the exit of the host caused some chuckles, the choreographer did not really appreciate it. “While editing, I’m getting annoyed on my own. It really means that instead of going stealing from the stores, because they are closed, I have time to do “choreography”. It’s really a crazy thing, ”he commented on his Instagram account, wondering if it was a“ joke. [raciste] or [d’une] clumsiness ”, and believing that these words had caused discomfort on the set.
Télématin presented the following day a message of apology to the choreographer “for these totally inappropriate and unintentionally hurtful words”. “They do not reflect the respect we have for your work; the one we wanted to highlight [le 10 avril]», Explained the morning show.

In a “story” published on Instagram and quoted by the Figaro, Sadeck Waff said he had “enjoyed” the mea culpa of Télématin. “I’m not someone who likes stories, who likes to stir up hatred, but if I posted this it was really to say stop. We can’t take it anymore, we have to stop it, we have to stop trivializing it, ”he said.
