Breton talent is exported to the United States! This week, America’s star presenter Jimmy Fallow invited Nantes-based band Mad Foxes to perform on their popular show, The Tonight Show.
“This is all thanks to Seattle radio, KEXP, which has been broadcasting us for some time. Jimmy Fallon, who listens to this radio a lot, heard one of our songs, liked, shazamé and voila. Our manager received an email for a possible appearance on the show. We recorded a live, from my parents’ house, for the show on Saturday May 8, ”explains Lucas, singer and guitarist of the group, to France 3 Pays de la Loire.
At first we thought it was a hoax
This passage in a program watched by several million viewers at prime time was unexpected for the people of Nantes, who are more used to performing in small rooms. “At first we thought it was a hoax, really,” Lucas explained on Europe 1. “It’s so nice that a man as important as him remains so simple and chooses to broadcast to us when we are really very small for the moment”.
Immediate success on YouTube
Since their appearance on the show, the number of views of the group’s clips has quadrupled on YouTube. And their music is listened to a lot more on streaming platforms. “We had a lot of feedback from Americans and French through the Fallon network and our own network. We have never had so much activity on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts. It’s almost disproportionate, but it’s cool. “
In the fall, the group will remain scheduled in small rooms in France, to promote his two albums: “Desert Island Wish” and “Ashamed”. But Mad Foxes can boast of being only the third artist to perform on Jimmy Fallon’s famous show, after Chris and Philippe Katerine.
