the mother of the teenager killed during the ball in Crépol speaks about the tragedy
The mother of Thomas, a 16-year-old teenager killed in the night from Saturday to Sunday in Crépol in the Drôme, described this Tuesday, November 21, the “furious madness” of a festive evening which turned into tragedy.
Thomas’ mother breaks the silence. This Tuesday, November 21, Isabelle, the mother of young Thomas, killed by a stab in the night from Saturday to Sunday during a ball in Crépol in the Drôme, described, to Paris Match, “a young man full of of life, much loved by his friends, someone without problems, very wise.
According to her, Thomas was an uneventful teenager. Captain of his rugby team at RC Romans-Péage, he told his friends: “we never fight on the pitch!”
“It’s furious madness”
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a “brawl of quite unprecedented violence for a village of 500 inhabitants”, according to the spokesperson for the national gendarmerie, broke out at the end of the Crépol ball in Drôme, at the the result of which Thomas lost his life.
It all started when around ten young people tried to break into the community hall where an invitational ball was being held. Mortally injured by a stab wound, Thomas died during his transport to Lyon hospital.
The young man was recently allowed to go out in the evening without his parents, but accompanied by his 23-year-old brother. “This summer, we allowed him to go to a few village balls, testified Isabelle. And for the one in Crépol, he couldn’t wait. It’s right next to us, and of the 300 or 400 participants, he must have known 80% of young people.”
In the middle of the night, the parents, who had gone 200km away for the weekend, were warned of the situation by their 23-year-old son, whom they believe to be “traumatized”. “He said he hadn’t managed to save his brother. We went home immediately.” But emergency services were unable to save the teenager. “They took away my Thomas. It’s all madness,” his mother lamented.
This Tuesday, the national gendarmerie arrested “seven” people “around Toulouse” as part of the investigation opened after Thomas’ death. Among those arrested is the person suspected of the murder, a source close to the investigation told BFMTV.
