Billy Horschel fell in the Masters standings after making a second visit to Rae’s Creek in as many days at Augusta National.

The former FedExCup champion landed on his back after slipping on the shore in 13th par-five in his third round on Saturday, to recover an unlikely par after choosing to play his third shot barefoot from the water.

Horschel faced a similar scenario at the same iconic hole on the final day, with his tee shot catching a tree on the big left dogleg par-five and falling into the water hazard.

Billy Horschel hit an unlikely par on the water in Augusta National’s 13th par on Saturday.

The American elected against a penalty drop after seeing that his ball was only partially submerged in water, before removing his shoes and socks for the second consecutive round and trying to strengthen his ball in play.

Horschel was unable to replicate his exploits from the day before and was only able to advance his ball a few yards, his next effort then barely moving as he got caught in the thick grass near the water.

The world No.17 finally agreed the best decision was to take a penalty stroke and put his shoes back on with his fifth shot, which was too far back to reach the green, where he pierced a middle iron towards the bosses at short and to the right of the putting surface.

Horschel found the green with his sixth shot and two 50-foot putts for a triple bogey eight, before experiencing more water issues two holes later with his approach in the 15th par five.
