A new module for Dark Souls 3 pits the final boss of the last DLC of the game against the final boss of the DLC of the FromSoftware title Transmitted by blood. FromSoftware has built a reputation for defying bosses over the past decade and appears to continue this trend with the next one. Ancient ring, which fans have been eagerly awaiting for some time now after its first reveal at E3 2019. A more detailed trailer released at Summer Games Fest earlier this year revealed many features that fans have come to expect from the upcoming title.
Another unique aspect that FromSoftware titles have cultivated over the years is a dedicated modding community that still posts content for installments as far back as the original. Dark souls. As with other communities, the mods cover a wide range of changes and additions, including one that brings the sport into Dark Souls 3. Thanks to the work of the modding community, a fan was recently able to answer a unique question: who is the ultimate boss of the final DLC?
YouTuber Garden of Eyes launched their channel in late 2020 with the goal of pitting Bloodborne bosses against each other. Since then, however, that focus has broadened to encompass more FromSoftware titles and their latest combat features. Dark Souls 3‘s Slave Knight Gael from “The Ringed City” DLC vs. Transmitted by blood‘s Orphan of Kos from “The Old Hunters”. The video consists of three fights between the two bosses, featuring an updated version of Orphan of Kos from a mod named “Call of the Abyss”. Each fight takes place in a different boss arena from Dark Souls 3. Despite a victory in the first round, the Kos orphan ended up losing to Slave Knight Gael over the next two rounds, culminating in a neck-and-neck competition in the final.

Boss vs. Boss Battles aren’t the only Garden of Eyes items of FromSoftware content. Sometimes the fights feature notoriously difficult NPCs or mini-bosses taking on the real bosses as well as each other. The channel also offers unique FromSoftware mods such as a Transmitted by blood first person camera mod. It shows how much creativity can be found in the gaming industry, even in the player base of a franchise as brutally difficult as Dark souls.
There is an undeniable appeal to watch Dark souls and Transmitted by blood bosses fight wildly instead of a helpless player. This comes from a shared struggle that every player of From Software’s games has had at some point, especially when first reading those titles. It also helps that the bosses themselves are towering figures and make exciting adversaries when set against each other. Ancient ring will likely add more notable bosses who will not only make seasoned gamers feel right at home, but also bring in a new generation of gamers who have yet to experience FromSoftware. Until then, however, players can continue to fight back against what came before and, if things ever get too tough, watch Gael and the Orphan slap each other for a change.
