Nasser Hussain on Jason Roy: ‘I think he likes razzmatazz, the big occasion. He could have a magnificent Hundred and remind everyone of his talent’ – watch Oval Invincibles vs London Spirit live on Sky Sports Thursday (6pm live, 6.30pm first ball)

The Hundred is a “big tournament” for Jason Roy after his tough run for England in the T20 internationals, says Sky Sports’ Nasser Hussain.
Roy has scored just 76 points in six T20Is for England this summer and will want a solid performance with Oval Invincibles in The Hundred to allay doubts over his place at the World Cup in Australia later this year.
The Invincibles begin their campaign against city rivals London Spirit on Thursday, a game you can watch live on Sky Sports The Hundred or via a free stream on skysports.com and the Sky Sports app.

Sky Sports Cricket Expert and former England captain Nasser Hussain said: “It’s a big tournament for Roy. I think he likes the razzmatazz, the big chances.
“He’s obviously run out of races and there’s a T20 World Cup just around the corner. [England white-ball coach] Matthew Mott will say, “Go ahead Jason, get in shape.”
“Roy is a real form player. He’s a bit streaky and will go through times like this, but suddenly he could have a magnificent tournament in The Hundred and remind everyone of his talent.
“He’s the kind of player England are desperate to do well. He epitomizes their approach to white-ball cricket with his attitude.”
Roy could open alongside Will Jacks against Spirit, with the latter having international ambitions of his own as England prepare for the T20 World Cup in October and then a 50-year-old version in India in 2023.
Jacks, who was in England’s ODI squad against Pakistan last summer but hasn’t played any games, believes playing in The Hundred will help him get higher honours.
The 23-year-old said: “I think [The Hundred] is a bit like a bridge between county cricket and international cricket.
“The quality of the local players is obviously the highest we have and the quality of the foreign players is incredibly high. There are some of the best players in the world on display.
“It’s a chance for someone like me to really push my game forward and push for the international (the team). Obviously I think every national player has an eye on international cricket.
Let the Minions explain how The Hundred works!
“It’s no different for me – it’s something I’ve wanted to do all my life and hope to get the chance one day.
“The Hundred is an opportunity for that – they’re great players on my team and teams I’m going to play against, so I’ll be able to put my name there.”
