The growth boom in the third quarter


The US economy continues to grow and experienced positive growth in the third quarter. This is good news by any measure, although it is striking that few economists think this can continue. Let’s hope they continue to be wrong.

Gross domestic product grew 4.9% after inflation in the third quarter on an annual basis. The courageous American consumer led the way, with personal consumption up 4% and contributing about 2.7 percentage points to overall growth.
