The ‘Friends’ cruise will soon be here for you
A cruise dedicated to the beloved ’90s sitcom will depart Florida in May 2022.

FANA, a travel agency based in the United States and Singapore, runs the Friends Fan cruise, nicknamed “The One When They Gone on the Cruise.” The seven-day navigation will depart and return to Fort Lauderdale, with stops in Key West, Florida; Cozumel, Mexico; and George Town, Grand Cayman.

The cruise is not affiliated with Warner Bros., which owns the rights to “Friends” and shares a parent company with CNN. Also, no cast member will appear. But for superfans, there’s plenty to do onboard, including “Friends” trivia, a favorite character costume contest, and cooking demonstrations.

The trip is made aboard the Celebrity Equinox, which was one of the industry’s top Cruise Critic Awards winners in 2019, earning recognition for Best Public Rooms and Best Large Ship overall. Although the ship can accommodate around 2,800 passengers, the “Friends” sail – operated in partnership with Celebrity Cruises – will only allow 500 guests to book.
Rates start at $ 1,648.66 per person for an inside cabin up to $ 3,048.66 for a Sky Suite with veranda, the highest room category. According to FANA, all cabin rates include free Wi-Fi, premium beverage package, $ 150 per person shore excursion credit, tips, taxes and fees. As there are two international ports of call, passengers must be in possession of a passport valid for at least six months after the date of travel.

Shore excursion options include a visit to the Rainforest and Key West Botanical Gardens, a visit to the Ernest Hemingway House, tequila and rum tastings (not at the same time), a helicopter trip to the above Grand Cayman’s famous Seven Mile Beach, swim with dolphins and stingrays (definitely the one Pheebs would choose), explore a coral reef by submarine, and participate in a beach clean-up project.

As of June 2021, Celebrity Cruises has required all passengers over 16 to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide proof of vaccination. Travelers must also complete a mandatory health questionnaire before being allowed to board.
