The First Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Teaser Is Here

Updated, May 22, 2024, 12:30 p.m. PT: A blurred version of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 key art has leaked via @billbil_kun on X/Twitter, just hours after the teaser was revealed.

As fans were quick to note, however vaguely, this is a clear return to the classic Black Ops 1 box set.

Previous story as follows:

Activision’s Call of Duty marketing machine kicked off with the release of the first Black Ops 6 teaser.

This first teaser below, posted by the CharlieIntel X/Twitter account, shows live footage showing Mount Rushmore being vandalized with the phrase “The Truth Lies.” The clip is part of a teaser website that features an interactive TV with just six channels, referencing the name of the game.

A second teaser has already been posted online, suggesting it won’t be long before we see what the remaining four channels have in store. The last clip is about 20 seconds shorter than the first, showing what appears to be the same mysterious group as they display black and orange posters of The Truth Lies.

Additionally, those who visit the website may hear threatening music when the digital TV is turned off. You can watch the latest teaser images, released by CharlieIntel, below.

Microsoft reportedly announced plans to release Black Ops 6 directly into Game Pass during its June Xbox showcase. Microsoft has so far declined to comment on these reports, but these are consistent with Recent comments from Xbox President Sarah Bondwhich indicated that all Microsoft games, including those developed by the recently acquired Activision, will launch directly in Game Pass.

Activision is reportedly aiming for a late October 2024 release for this year’s Call of Duty, which should be called Black Ops 6 after teasers discovered in Battle Royale Warzone were acknowledged by developer Treyarch. Microsoft is also rumored to be ready to release the Call of Duty video game catalog in Game Pass before the release of Black Ops 6.

Although the TV-themed teaser website promises to reveal more soon, additional details about Black Ops 6 remain a mystery. We can at least expect to find out more when Xbox hosts its next showcase on June 9, 2024.
