The 31st session of the Annual Assembly of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will take place from May 10 to 12, 2022 in Marrakech. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Aloaui, and the Secretary General of the EBRD, Kazuhiko Koguchi, proceeded this Monday to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) relating to the organization of the 2022 edition of the Bank’s annual meeting in Marrakech.
It’s done. The 2022 edition of the annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will take place in Marrakech next May. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Morocco and the EBRD was signed to this effect on Monday between Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance and Kazuhiko Koguchi, Secretary General of the EBRD.
During this meeting, the Minister highlighted the quality of relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the EBRD and highlighted the support provided by the EBRD since 2012 to the economic development efforts of the Kingdom. In this regard, she stressed the readiness of the Moroccan Government to continue efforts to accelerate cooperation with the Bank.
Ms. Fettah also welcomed the forthcoming holding, in Marrakech between May 10 and 12, 2022, of the 31st session of the EBRD’s annual meeting, which demonstrates, once again, the confidence that Morocco has in its international partners, particularly in its ability to host and organize events of international scope.
In this context, the Minister welcomed the progress of the preparations and the quality of collaboration between the team of the Ministry and that of the Bank and reassured the Secretary General of the mobilization of all the necessary means. for the success of this event, which will be one of the first international institutional events, organized in Morocco after the pandemic crisis.
For his part, Mr. Koguchi stressed that the EBRD’s annual meeting is an opportunity to ensure the Bank’s commitment to the countries in which it operates and to discuss ways to strengthen their economies, particularly after two years of pandemic and the current international crisis.
The holding of the EBRD event in Morocco, he underlines, demonstrates the resilience of this country and will make it possible to highlight its attractiveness as a business center and a first-rate tourist destination.
As a reminder, the EBRD’s annual meeting is an annual event organized in one of the 38 countries in which the Bank invests, and attended by official delegations led by the Ministers responsible for the Economy and Finance, personalities from the world of business and international finance and representatives of civil society.
