The Eagles celebrate Nick Foles today

The Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII next Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.
It was just five years ago when the Eagles last won a Super Bowl, and it was a unique situation as their starting quarterback, Carson Wentz, went down in Week 14 this year. there with a torn ACL.
Replacement Nick Foles took over and finished the job by leading Philly to the World Championship against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots exactly five years ago today.

It was one of the most impressive Cinderella stories in recent NFL history, as Foles hadn’t really been considered a championship-caliber signalman until 2017.
He spent the first three years of his career with the Eagles and did quite well, making the Pro Bowl in 2013 while appearing in his first postseason after beating former starter Michael Vick for the QB1 role.
In 2017 he joined the Eagles, and after winning the Super Bowl he started the 2018 season as a starter while Wentz continued his rehab of his torn ACL.
Foles ended up starting five games that year, and he then left the Eagles, playing one year with the Jacksonville Jaguars and two with the Chicago Bears before joining the Indianapolis Colts for that season.
After Matt Ryan underperformed throughout the season, Foles became the starter for the final two games on the schedule.
But he will always hold a special place in the hearts of Philadelphia sports fans for leading the Eagles to their first-ever Super Bowl victory.
