The defeat against Everton is very disappointing especially since we started well, asserts Patson Daka

Leicester City striker Patson Daka believes his side need to learn from their mistakes against Everton as they were the better side and should have tried their luck to win the game. The Foxes faced Frank Lampard’s side but were condemned to a 2-1 defeat after a Mason Holgate goal.

After just four wins in their last ten games, many expected Leicester City to go for a walk Everton and graze Frank Lampardfrom the side. However, things didn’t go to plan for the Foxes all season and again it never happened as the Toffees came away 2-1 winners. This was despite Brendan Rodgers’ side pulling a goal back after Vitaliy Mykolenko’s first Premier League goal.

But a set piece from Mason Holgate gave Everton the lead and this time they didn’t let the Foxes back into the game with Jordan Pickford making three crucial saves to make sure of it. He saw Patson Daka lament the missed chances and the striker admitted his team needed to be more clinical and take a chance. He also added that it was a “very disappointing” game to lose and one that left the team frustrated.

“It’s very disappointing. The most disappointing thing is that we had control of the game. We did everything right, until the set piece, which is the most frustrating part for us. We did very well I think it’s something we’ve been doing for a few games, it’s off to a good start,” Daka said, Goal reported.

“Football is a game of chance, so if you don’t take a chance and the other team takes a chance… whoever takes a chance will win the game. The way we played the game, the result is wrong together It’s so frustrating for us.

The striker scored the only goal of the game for the home side with him now just one behind Jamie Vardyhome record this season. It saw Daka admit it wasn’t the best season for him and he needed to ‘keep working to find me in the right positions’. HE also added that the team struggled to score late and were working to change that.

“I have to keep working to find myself in the right positions to score many goals to help the team. One was not enough for the team, so we have to keep working hard and scoring more goals. We don’t haven’t really scored goals in recent games so we have to work on that as well,” he added.
