The CPS School Board will vote on the start time in the fall

CHICAGO (CBS) — The CPS school board could formalize some major changes to the school calendar, reducing summer holidays.

The proposal going to the final vote on Wednesday brings students back two weeks before Labor Day. The last day of class would be shifted to the first week of June.

The proposal would end in the second term before winter break, and students would have a full week off for Thanksgiving.
