“The Conmebol Copa America 2021 will be played in Brazil. The start and end dates of the tournament have been confirmed,” the South American body said on its Twitter account.

A few hours earlier, Argentina had announced that it was giving up the organization of the tournament due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Colombia had thrown in the towel ten days earlier following social unrest.
