The best meatball in South Jersey is in Stone Harbor, NJ

Who doesn’t love a meatball.

When it comes to home style and authenticity, it’s hard to find better Italian cuisine than here in New Jersey.

A local spot has been included on NJ.com’s list of the 25 best meatballs in the entire state. If you’re looking for the best meatballs in South Jersey, you need to head south to Stone Harbor to Spiaggetta Restaurant, which landed #24 on the state’s 25 Best Meatballs list. , according to writer Peter Genovese. .

Spiaggetta offers “classic Italian and Roman cuisine”. What is Roman cuisine? Well, from Rome, of course; standards include artichokes, cacio e pepe (pasta with pecorino romano cheese and black pepper); and pizza al taglio (oblong-shaped pizza cut with a knife or scissors). The pork, veal, and beef meatballs, each Delaware-sized and topped with fresh mozzarella, pesto, bechamel sauce, and marinara, come highly recommended.

I was in Rome in the summer of 2022, and if I can get a meatball that tastes like the meatballs I had in Rome, I’ll be there as soon as they open!

This is a place I wanted to try, as it recently made the list of the top 50 Italian restaurants in the state, coming in at #33. In that ranking, they recommended trying the pork, veal, and beef balls.

Spiaggetta is currently closed for the season, but will reopen for Valentine’s Day weekend, February 10 from 5 p.m.

Take a trip south to 9800 3rd Avenue in Stone Harbor and try what might be the best meatballs in not just Cape May County, but all of South Jersey.

Can’t say I’ve had these meatballs, but I’ll definitely be hitting the boardwalk this summer to try one!
