Deepak Chahar has paid tribute to MS Dhoni for keeping his faith when he was having bad days at Chennai Super Kings. Chahar also called Dhoni a “no”. 1 captain’ and added that the confidence Dhoni gave him helped him produce good results.
MS Dhoni is often praised by many for his constant support while leading Chennai Super Kings as well as Team India. Many have said publicly that it was Dhoni’s continued support that helped them achieve the best version of theirs in the past. Deepak Chahar is the latest to join the roster as the 29-year-old revealed how he came back from his darkest days under Dhoni’s management.
In a recent report filed by IANS, Chahar, who missed the entire IPL 2022 due to a hamstring injury, revealed how Dhoni’s support and belief helped him generate wealth dividends. Moreover, Chahar added that he has to work very hard to become one of the best Indian bowlers for the overshot cricket.
“Mahi bhai gave me a lot of advice. The best advice was to believe in myself. When I first played for CSK, the confidence he gave me was reflected in my performance. He’s the number one captain. If he believes in you, you have to believe in yourself. The belief I had playing for CSK was huge. It changed my career. The belief and trust that Mahi bhai gave me were the best,” Chahar said, as reported by IANS.
“The chart will go up and down. For me it’s been down for many years, but I still worked hard day and night. I always thought there was no alternative to hard work. If you work hard, the day and the hour will come and you will play well. You will get what you deserve. When you are little, it is important that you imagine yourself as an international cricketer. You see posters on the wall. You should see your face in these pictures and it should make you work hard every session. You should see yourself there.
Chahar is set to return to India’s limited overs setup in the next Asian Cup.
