The American and JetBlue will face the Department of Justice in an antitrust lawsuit

American Airlines Group and JetBlue Airways Corp. will defend its partnership in a trial beginning this week against government allegations that they are stifling competition in New York and Boston and harming consumers across the country.

The Justice Department, along with six states and the District of Columbia, filed an antitrust lawsuit last year to block a 2020 deal between the two airlines to sell seats on each other’s flights along certain routes, pool airport slots, coordinate schedules and share flight revenues as part of the North East partnership.
