The AMEE joins the DATA-TIKA program of the CNDP

The National Commission for Personal Data Protection Control (CNDP) and the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) signed, on Wednesday in Rabat, a partnership agreement to join the DATA TIKA program.
The agreement, signed by the director general of the AMEE, Saïd Mouline, and the president of the CNDP, Omar Seghrouchni, formalizes the adhesion of the AMEE to the “DATA-TIKA” program set up by the CNDP on July 9 2020 and is based on three strategic components, the first of which aims to strengthen compliance with Law 09-08, by supporting the AMEE in this process, by organizing training sessions for trainers on the protection of personal data and by giving pilot access to the online application for the dematerialization of notifications to the CNDP.
The second part, relating to the inversion of the paradigm and AMEE projects related to personal DATA, plans to carry out workshops and brainstorming on the uses of data (and in particular, on personal data) as envisaged or desired by the AMEE and its ecosystem in the context of its business developments and future strategic repositioning, to identify the various issues of the AMEE related to the protection of personal data and to benefit from the network of distribution of AMEE for distribution of CNDP leaflets.
The third component concerns the feeding of the guidelines for the bricks of digital trust, by the formalization of the preventive conclusions within component 2, in order to feed a transversal, multi-partner and multi-member reflection, which must succeed in the production of recommendations on building blocks of trust for different uses that may be specific to the AMEE or applicable on a national scale, such as hosting and data collection.
In a statement to MAP, Mr. Seghrouchni indicated that in addition to supporting this new partner in compliance with the law in force, the agreement stipulates a reflection, very upstream, on the issues related to the energy efficiency, when processing or handling personal data.
He stressed, in this sense, that the issue of personal data is a cross-cutting issue that crosses all themes and all centers of interest within society, the economy and within the country.
“We are very happy to have signed this agreement with the AMEE and we will, in addition to compliance, work on issues related to tools that should allow managing energy efficiency and handling personal data. , those of the final consumer,” he said.
For his part, Mr. Saïd Mouline indicated that this agreement will allow his establishment to comply with Law 09-08, noting that data protection is very important within public establishments.
“We deal with a lot of data. That’s the way, in that spirit, to be in compliance,” he said, adding that the AMEE has implemented standards in all its procedures, so more than the Agency is certified ISO 9000 ISO, ISO 14000 and ISO 20000.
“We want to show today, in the context of the activities we carry out and the data we receive, both internally and from the Agency’s staff and from our partners, that data protection must be respected. “, he asserted.
The AMEE, under Law 39-16, is a strategic public institution whose mission is to implement government policy aimed at reducing energy dependence, through the promotion of energy efficiency.
Created in 2009 under Law No. 09-08, the CNDP is responsible for verifying that the processing of personal data is lawful and does not infringe the privacy, freedoms and fundamental rights of individuals.
