Amazon has started implementing the revamped user interface for the Prime Video app with the primary goal of simplifying content discovery for its consumers.
According to an official statement from the company, the Prime Video app will now host a simplified and more user-friendly main navigation menu for easy access to movies, TV shows, sports and premium channels.
With the revamped menu, titles like The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be easily accessible to Prime Video subscribers. The new lobby app navigation menu has also been moved to the side of the screen for easy access.
Additionally, the Prime Video app will launch six main pages – Home, Store, Search, Live TV, Free with Ads, and My Stuff. If a visitor prefers to browse by content or offer type, sub-browse choices will also be available.
The new app also comes with a carousel that showcases movies with more spectacular graphics as part of the overhauled user interface. For example, the “Top 10 Chart” will feature the most popular and trending material on Prime Video, while the “Super Carousel” will feature prominent titles such as Amazon Originals and Exclusives.
Amazon is also making it easier for Prime Video customers to distinguish between a video included in their Prime subscription and content that needs to be purchased. To accomplish this, titles now come with visual cues in the form of a blue tick symbol for available content and a shopping cart icon for titles that need to be purchased.
By selecting the My Subscriptions line at the top of the home page, one can also see all the videos that come with the Prime subscription.
The Search page has also been improved by the new user interface. Prime members can choose to filter results by genre or 4K UHD.
According to Amazon’s statement, the new Prime Video app interface for Fire TV, Android and other connected living room devices has already started rolling out, while it will soon be available for iOS and the web.
