The actor of the Spanish series “Elite” on Netflix has collapsed

Julián Ortega, actor who starred in the hit Spanish film recently released on Netflix Elitedied after collapsing on a beach. He was 41.

The National Union of Spanish Actors and Actresses confirmed the actor’s death in an obituary published this week. “From the Unión de Actores y Actrices, we extend our deepest condolences to the actor’s family and friends,” the statement read.

There are conflicting accounts of Ortega’s death. Initial reports suggested he drowned, but other sources said he collapsed on Zahora beach in Barbate early Sunday night.

Olive press SpainAn English-language publication in Spain reported that Ortega suffered cardiac arrest and paramedics spent up to 30 minutes trying to resuscitate him.

Ortega appeared in six episodes of Elite in 2018. The series is one of Netflix’s most well-known Spanish original series and its eighth and final season recently premiered on July 26 on the platform. His other credits include Carontea crime drama airing on Amazon Prime Video.

Spanish actress Silvia Marsó paid tribute to Ortega, writing on Instagram that she was struggling to process the news. “It’s absolute sadness,” she said.
