The 2022 Twitter Trends Report reveals 3 big moves emerging at the top of the conversation

The Twitter Trends report captured the themes and interests shaping consumer behavior in the global and Indian market. This year’s Twitter Trends report dives deep into what’s now, what’s to come, and what lies ahead in the future.

This year, the report found that three major movements are emerging at the top of the conversation, finance is going social, fans are building worlds, and entrepreneurship is rising to the top of culture.

To learn more about the report, Storyboard18 spoke with Preetha Athrey – Director, Global Business Marketing, Twitter APAC and Lisa Cowie, Global Head of Twitter Trends to talk about the global trends that emerged from the research.

Speaking of finance towards the social trend, Athrey said, “This trend reflects Indians’ growing interest in learning and sharing about investments, markets and all things money. I would say the investment really got into the timeline and the chat.

“We all know that fan communities have been around for many years. But today, these communities are now at the center of conversations because today’s fans are no longer just following celebrities.

“The latest entrepreneurship is reaching its peak – building a business has never been so exciting and having recently emerged as the third largest unicorn ecosystem in the world, India’s startup culture is truly booming. On Twitter , we’ve seen founders building communities with their own personal brands, inspiring a slew of new, more diverse entrepreneurs who begin their journey.
