As 2023 progresses, I will continually rank each new release added to Netflix throughout the year and update the list monthly. Many great movies were added to the streaming service in March, and they are now eligible for this list. So, let’s review the best new movies added to Netflix in 2023.
The magician’s elephant
Netflix has had a lot of success with these animated features, including the two Oscar-nominated films The Mitchells vs. the Machines And The beast from the sea. And the streaming giant is looking to continue that streak in 2023 with The magician’s elephanta film about an orphan boy who goes in search of his missing sister.
The magician’s elephant was directed by Wendy Rogers and features the voices of Noah Jupe, Mandy Patinkin, Natasia Demetriou, Benedict Wong, Miranda Richardson and Aasif Mandvi.

For all fans of 2000s romantic comedies, Your place or mine seems to scratch that itch. From its absurd premise to the natural chemistry that exists between the two leads, this romance is a joy to watch. The film follows two best friends who weren’t romantic for years before discovering they might be perfect for each other.

Without a doubt, the funniest new movie on Netflix in 2023 is you people– a comedy about race relations in America from the minds of Kenya Barris and Jonah Hill. The film centers on a couple who anxiously inform their polarizing parents of their modern relationship.

Luther: The Fallen Sun
If you were a fan of the short BBC detective series Lutherso you were sure to catch the complicated character’s on-screen return in Luther: The Fallen Sun. This film focuses on the character of Luther, who escapes from prison in order to solve a case that has haunted him for years.

Women have slowly and steadily gained a fierce presence in action movies over the past few years. And The female king saw this trend reach its peak, as the mostly female cast brings with them a cavalcade of vibrant fight scenes. The female king centers on a group of all-female warriors who protect the African kingdom of Dahomey.

Of the celebrities who have wowed a captivated audience over the years, Pamela Anderson certainly ranks among the most viral. This documentary takes a look at his iconic life, with never-before-seen footage and diaries included.

True Spirit
Some stories seem so surreal that they could not be true. True Spirit certainly fits that bill, as the teen drama follows a 16-year-old Australian who attempted to circumnavigate the globe on her own.

The film is set in the near future as an artificial intelligence lab leads an effort to end a civil war by cloning the brain of a famous warrior.

Along with its healthy lineup of darker adult content, Netflix is prolific with plenty of family-friendly options that provide plenty of laughs. The biggest hit so far seems to be we have a ghosta fantasy comedy centered around a family who cause a stir on social media when they discover their house is haunted by a ghost.
