Texas sends buses to the border to transport migrants who want to get to DC

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) said it began sending buses to the US-Mexico border after Governor Greg Abbott announced the state would send migrants who entered the country illegally to Washington, DC.

MDDT Recount Anna Giaritelli, reporter for the Washington Examiner, that he sent buses to “areas where communities have expressed concerns that the federal government is dropping off migrants.”

Abbott made the announcement on Wednesday, saying Texas was “overwhelmed with hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration,” and that “the Biden administration will be able to respond more immediately to the needs of people that it allows “to cross our border” if the migrants are taken to the national capital.
