Four executives on the board of directors of the Texas power grid operator said on Tuesday they would resign amid outrage from more than 4 million customers who lost power in a deadly winter freeze last week.

All of the resigning directors, including President Sally Talberg, live outside Texas, which has only intensified criticism of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.

The resignations are effective Wednesday, a day before Texas lawmakers begin hearings on the outages in the state of the Capitol.
