University of Tennessee pitcher Ben Joyce might have the hottest heat.
In a viral video posted by “Pitching Ninja” Rob Friedman this week, Joyce throws so hard it’s almost not fair. (Watch it below.)
Joyce shut down South Carolina on March 20 with throws at 102, 103 and 104 mph. The latter is “considered the fastest pitch ever in the college game,” wrote USA Today’s For the Win.
The blazing speed made his 91mph shift sluggish.
Not bad for a guy who was out all last season after having a ‘Tommy John’ arm tendon replacement in 2020. Joyce’s twin brother Zach underwent the same surgery but it ended his career, according to MLB.com.
Tennessee coach Tony Vitello marveled at Ben Joyce’s speed as he outplayed NCAA hitters.
