Tems responds to view-blocking Oscars 2023 sartorial backlash

At Sunday’s 2023 Oscars, Tems, nominated for Best Original Song, faced backlash for wearing a dramatic white Lever Couture dress that blocked the view of audience members seated behind her at the awards show.
And on Monday, the 27-year-old singer shared her playful response to the drama.
“Uh Ohh!” Tems captioned a series of Instagram photos of herself wearing the couture design, which featured a structured veil that wrapped around her shoulders and formed a sculptural halo above her head.
She also tweeted photos modeling the overdone ensemble, in writing“Oops.”
Fans applauded Tems for hitting back at haters and embracing his fashion choice.
“Block their view!” 🔥,” one person clapped on Instagram.
“You’re up there and I’m glad you know it❤️❤️,” a second person wrote.
“Block them my love… They don’t deserve to see front😍😍,” said another fan.

The comments section of Tems’ Instagram post was filled with far more positivity than Twitter on Oscar night.
The singer inspired hundreds of wild memes and was ruthlessly dragged for wearing the view-obstructing garment.

Others blamed the designer of the towering dress.
