Teenager in critical condition after being shot dead in Belmont Cragin

CHICAGO (CBS) — A teenager is in critical condition after being shot Monday night in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, was inside a vehicle in the 2100 block of N. Natchez Avenue shortly after 7:30 p.m. when he was shot in the chest, police said from Chicago.

He was first taken to Loyola Hospital in critical condition.

No offenders are in custody in connection with the shooting and area detectives are investigating.

Police did not provide any further details of the incident.
