Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) took a swipe at gender pronouns at a conservative student conference this week.
At the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa on Friday, Cruz recalled a visit in an “awakened” school.
“I recently spoke to a female student on one of our woke college campuses who told me that she was required in every class to introduce herself and give her pronouns,” Cruz recounted during the talk. “Well my name is Ted Cruz and my pronoun is kiss my ass.”
But the comment practically doubled as yet another for the Texas senator, serving as pure fuel for people on Twitter.
Cruz’s Friday remarks came days after his denunciation of the Oberfell v. Hodges of the 2015 Supreme Court which legalized same-sex marriage.
Following the Court’s overturning in June of Roe v. Wade, Justice Clarence Thomas issued a concurring opinion stating that the Supreme Court had “a duty to ‘correct the error’ established” in the Obergefell decision. Cruz went on to say that the court was “clearly wrong” and “overstretched” in the landmark gay rights case.
