Ted Cruz gives jaw-dropping answer when asked about term limits

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said he supports term limits — but not for himself, not yet.

Cruz claimed he supports a two-term limit for senators. But as “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan pointed out on Sunday, he is now seeking a third term.

“Why don’t you conform to this standard?” ” she asked.

Cruz insisted that he was a “passionate advocate for term limits” and said “Congress would work a lot better” with those limits.

“I never said I was going to comply unilaterally,” he said.

Cruz proposed a constitutional amendment for term limits. That has virtually no chance of happening – yet he said that’s when he will “hopefully, happily” comply with his own call for term limits.
