Tech and consumer innovation keeps us ahead, says Samsung’s Raju Antony Pullan


Global smartphone maker Samsung will launch its new S22 series phones in India on March 11. The company has already received 1.4 lakh in pre-bookings despite the cost of the smartphone exceeding Rs 1 lakh. But Samsung faces fierce competition from Chinese players.

CNBC-TV18’s Ashmit Kumar spoke with Raju Anthony Pullan, Senior Vice President of Samsung India, about how the company is handling such tight competition.

He said, “There will be competition, but I think technology and consumer-centric innovations will separate us and that’s where we’ve made leaps and bounds in investing in India, both in retail or whether it’s on Samsung.com or whether it’s pure players we’ll be where the consumer is with the right ecosystem, with the ecosystem that really expands the market and decommodifies it.

Pullan added, “Samsung has always been a full-range player, whether it’s through pricing, we’re not just the tech warriors, but we’re also the price, we’re also making price inroads into the consumer so that we can drive the consumer to improve.Even if you look at the flagship segment, we have the largest range of flagships, whether it’s a product, which is pegged at around $40,000 at the Fold, which is around 1.50,000. So we’re a complete player.
