Taylor Swift won’t be dancing up a storm in her best dress Friday night in Argentina, even after rumored love interest Travis Kelce arrived in Buenos Aires presumably to watch her perform.
The “Fearless” singer canceled her concert in the capital, citing bad weather, with a forecast of 0.5 to 2. inches of rain and 40 mph winds.
“I love rain shows, but I will never put my fans, fellow artists and crew at risk,” Swift wrote on social media Friday afternoon.
The show was rescheduled for Sunday, Swift said.
“Due to the really chaotic weather, it would be dangerous to try to organize this concert. The good news is that I can stay longer in Argentina!!”
It’s a rare move for the singer, who usually chooses to perform in the pouring rain rather than disappoint her loving fans.
Already on the Eras Tour, Swift sang and danced despite heavy rain, once on May 7 in Nashville and a second time in Boston on May 20.
In Nashville, the rain was so intense that there was a shelter in place warning sent an hour before Swift’s opener, Gracie Abrams, took the stage. Swift hasn’t started her set until about 10 p.m. that evening.
During this show, precipitation totaled 2.24 inches. In Boston, a total of 1.62 inches of rain fell on Gillette Stadium while Swift played.
Kelce flew to Buenos Aires on Thursday evening after helping teammate Patrick Mahomes raise money at a charity event, a source close to the couple told NBC News. His arrival in Argentina appears to confirm speculation that he will attend Swift’s upcoming shows.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end appears to be trading roles with his girlfriend, Swift, presumably taking her turn in his VIP tent during the Eras tour of Argentina on Saturday night.
All eyes will be on Kelce in the VIP tent at the Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires during the second of three shows where Swift will perform her 3.5-hour concert at the venue. It’s unclear whether he now plans to stay for Sunday’s show.
In recent months, as rumors about their apparent relationship have taken over the internet, Swift has made an appearance at four of Kelce’s Chiefs games, wearing the team’s signature red as she cheered on the tight end from the box office. VIP.
Kelce is using his bye week to join Swift on tour after a road win in Frankfurt, Germany, against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
This won’t be the first time Kelce has seen Swift perform the Eras Tour live. He attended the show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in July, which he later recalled on his “New Heights” podcast.
He made it clear that he tried to get a friendship bracelet with his cell phone number from Swift that evening, but was ultimately unsuccessful.
