DeKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A Sylvania man was arrested after leading authorities in a multi-county pursuit last month.

DeKalb County deputies said they attempted to stop a car on County Road 197 and Lacy Road in Henagar on March 16. Deputies told News 19 that the car initially left the road, but as officers approached the vehicle, it sped away.

Zackery Blake Laney, 34, of Sylvania, was arrested and charged with attempted escape, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting contraband while in prison. Laney was also charged with violating his federal probation, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
