Switch Online expands N64 library with Rare’s Jet Force Gemini
Update: Nintendo of America has confirmed that the game will be coming to the Switch Online service locally in December.
Original: Well, here’s a new surprise! Nintendo has revealed that the Switch Online + Expansion service will add the Nintendo 64 title Jet Force Gemini.
Unfortunately, there’s no mention of a Western release as of yet, but an update is likely on the way. What we do know is that Jet Force Gemini will be added to the Japanese N64 library on November 30 alongside GoldenEye 007.
Jet Force Gemini was a third-person shooter released in 1999 featuring Juno, Vela and Lupus who must put an end to an insectoid threat. This title was developed by the geniuses at Rare – also known for GoldenEye 007 (which is already available locally on Switch Online) and many other N64 classics.
This release is the first time Jet Force Gemini has been available on one of Nintendo’s digital platforms or services. It was also previously featured in the Rare recovery collection for Xbox One and added dual analog support.
