Swimming: Yannick Agnel, already indicted for rape, was heard in another case of sexual assault on a minor

Already indicted and placed under judicial control for raping the daughter of his ex-coach, the former Olympic world swimming champion was heard on Tuesday for suspicion of assault on a second minor and subsequently placed under statute of assisted witness.
Indicted in December 2021 for rape and sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor, former swimmer Yannick Agnel will not be indicted for the second time.
Heard on Tuesday January 24 for suspicion of sexual assault on a second minor, he was finally placed under the status of assisted witness, revealed France Info on information from RTL.
Confounded by wiretapping
Mulhouse police investigators had discovered this second case during telephone tapping of family members of the ex-swimmer. During police custody for his first case, Yannick Agnel returned to an alcoholic evening during which he is suspected of sexually assaulting a minor in his entourage.
In the first case for which Yannick Agnel is indicted, he had admitted during his police custody to have had a relationship with one of the daughters of Lionel Horter, his former trainer. She was 13 and he was 24 at the time. Although he had assured that he had not felt any constraint according to the prosecutor of Mulhouse, the Olympic champion is therefore indicted for this first case.
