Swimmer withdraws from Olympic trials due to “misogynistic perverts”

One of the Australian swimming champions has a powerful message for all the “perverts” out there.

Madeline’s groves, 26, announced this week that she would not compete in the Olympic trials in Adelaide, Australia, ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In 2016, she won two silver medals in Rio.

She explained that she “made the decision” not to compete this year, writing on Instagram: “I am so grateful to feel so supported in this decision. I feel very relieved and can’t wait to participate in more competitions later in the year (yes sorry / not sorry, you haven’t gotten rid of me yet!). “

Madeline showed her support for her fellow swimmers, noting that “Whatever happens I sincerely believe this will be one of the fastest Australian swim teams ever … Good luck to all who participate at the Olympic trials “.

But the 200-meter butterfly champion later revealed the real reason she retired from the games this year.

At Twitter, Madeline did not hesitate to accuse anonymous individuals in the sport of being exploiters.
