Suspect dead in Easley Walmart shooting

The suspect in a police-involved shooting outside a Walmart in Easley, South Carolina, has died, according to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office. The Pickens County Coroner’s Office and Easley Police were called to the Walmart on Rolling Hills Circle around 7 p.m. Sunday. Easley police said there was an officer-involved shooting and all officers were OK. The coroner’s office confirmed the suspect in the shooting has died. They said the suspect was a man and the shooting happened outside the store. The coroner’s office identified him as Shawn Elrod, 33, of Easley. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said they responded to a scene in Easley, which is standard when officers are involved in a shooting.
