The Carolina Panthers look more like a team destined to compete for a high draft pick, as opposed to a playoff appearance.
However, one key player is currently leading the league in time to pitch, ahead of the likes of NFL greats like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
That player is PJ Walker, who averages the fastest average time to throw at just 2.38 seconds.
In contrast, Brady sits at 2.42 seconds and Rodgers at 2.52.

Walker had an impressive outing during the COVID-shortened XFL season and earned a contract with the Panthers, where he’s been a backup and starter ever since.
While he struggled in 2020 and 2021 despite going 2-0, Walker was arguably the best quarterback on the Carolina roster this season.
In three starts, he has a respectable 93.4 quarterback rating, 62.5 percent completion percentage, three touchdowns and one interception.
Walker can remain Carolina’s starter
With interim head coach Steve Wilks essentially auditioning for the Panthers head coach job, he’ll likely stay with Walker for the rest of the season assuming the quarterback maintains his strong showing.
The Panthers originally opted for former first overall pick Baker Mayfield as their starting quarterback, but an injury has since ruled him out.
This angle of #Panthers QB PJ Walker’s Falcons touchdown is CRAZY!

Mayfield was also sacked 8.9% of the time, as opposed to Walker who lost just 7% of the time.
Surely, the speed with which Carolina gets rid of football has contributed to both her success and her ability to keep her uniform clean.
It remains to be seen if Walker is able to maintain his pace.
