Former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson celebrated the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which provided a constitutional right to abortion for nearly 50 years. Speaking on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Saturday, Johnson argued that Democrats were responsible for the landmark decision that “tipped that pendulum” too far to the left and led many Americans to demand legislation.

ABBY JOHNSON: I think we have Trump to thank for that, for appointing constitutional judges The Supreme Court. But, I mean, really, I think the left did this to themselves. They swung that pendulum so much to one side that the safe, legal, and rare argument made sense to a lot of people. It made sense to independents. That made sense to moderate Republicans. But swing that pendulum so far to the left where they at now ask for abortion on request for any reason throughout nine months of pregnancy, and they want us to pay for it. This is something that just doesn’t make sense to the majority of Americans. That doesn’t make sense to the majority of Democrats. And so they really did this to themselves by taking such an extreme stance on abortion. And people finally stood up and said, this is crazy, this is ridiculous. It’s not something I want to support. States rose up, they passed laws and now here we are with the end of Roe.
