Washington plays the dual role of restraining batters with his bowling and running in a few runs as a floater. He has taken four wickets and scored half a century so far in the season.

But manager Tom Moody has made it clear he won’t be available for at least two games and it will be interesting to see who replaces the versatile XI.

Hyderabad have the option of Shreyas Gopal and Jagadeesha Suchith in the rotation department or they could give another chance to Abdul Samad, who looked ordinary in the first two matches.

For Sunrisers, it was miss-batting that hurt them as they faltered on their first two chases, but the team solved the problem with fly-half Abhishek Sharma and Williamson producing the goods on both latest outings.

While Sharma shone with game winners 75 and 42, Williamson scored 32 and 57 to start the chase in the final two games.

Rahul Tripathi looked good against GT before retiring injured with what appeared to be a cramp, and his availability will be crucial for SRH.

In Tripathi’s absence, Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram finished the job against GT and the team will expect them to be consistent and take responsibility in the middle order.

In bowling, Marco Jansen took a wicket apiece in the last two games, while fellow pacers T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar contributed with crucial wickets.

KKR head into the game after a loss to the Delhi Capitals, but they remain a formidable team and would be looking to bounce back from the knockdown.

The Knight Riders sit second with six points from five outings.

Shreyas Iyer and Co. were blown away by Delhi’s batting power, their formidable bowling attack looking toothless against the brilliance of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw.

Umesh Yadav suffered his first bad day of the season when he conceded 48 runs for one wicket. Ditto for Pat Cummins as the Australian skipper bled 51 in his four overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell went for 44 and 16 in their respective spells.

While Iyer did most of the scoring with a 54 in the last game, fly-half Ajinkya Rahane’s poor form is cause for concern for KKR. Venkatesh Iyer, too, couldn’t set the stage on fire and only has a fifty to show in his five innings.

The former KKR champions are also hoping for more consistency from Nitish Rana, Andre Russell and Sam Billings.
